Custom Orthotics

Alleviate Abnormal/Irregular Walking:
Orthotics custom-made shoe inserts that help to alleviate an abnormal, or irregular, walking pattern that may be painful or to prevent arthritis and tendon injuries painful. Commonly called arch supports, orthotics allow people to stand, walk, and run more comfortably an pain-free.

These devices prescribe as orthotic devices to correct an abnormal walk or gait pattern and to avoid surgery.

We prescribe orthotic devices in many shapes and sizes, and materials designed to influence the foot's position and provide functional control and protection.

Rigid orthotics
The rigid orthotic device is often composed of a firm material such as polypropylene plastic or carbon fiber, and is used for walking or dress shoes and are made after a cast image of the foot is created.

Rigid orthotics control motion in two major foot joints that lie directly below the ankle joint and may improve or eliminate strains, aches, and pains in the legs, thighs, and lower back.

Soft orthotics
Soft orthotics will absorb shock and reduce pressure off uncomfortable or sore areas of the foot. They are made of soft materials that are molding to the foot. Soft orthoses are usually effective for diabetic, arthritic, and deformed feet.

Semi-rigid orthotics
Semi-rigid orthotics will provide for walking or participating in sports. Different sports will require different kinds of materials and adjustments to the orthotics. Multiple layers of material are used to reinforce the foot.

Sport, Leisure and Football
Sporting and Leisure requirements may require a specific device unique to an individual sporting shoe. This can be the case, for example, with football shoes. A standard device is too large or the edge affects the trajectory of the ball as it strikes it. Our device is designed with the close-fitting shoe-boot in mind and made to each individual foot and shoe.

Children's Orthotics

Alleviate Abnormal/Irregular Walking:

Children may well have a need for encouragement of good foot function. The devices we supply are made specifically for children and not simply adult types cut down to size. As part of our commitment to you we insist that when obtaining devices for your child you also take up the outgrowth insurance. This costs a small amount extra but means you do not have the cost of new pair devices to find for the next two years. At the rate children's feet grow this can be reassuring. Children are sometimes given orthoses to treat foot position from flat feet, in-toeing or out-toeing problems. Athletes use orthoses to while they train and to enhance performance.
